Privacy Policy

Last updated May 10, 2026

This policy explains what Bouncepad collects, why we collect it, and how account, analytics, and infrastructure providers handle data while you use the web app and mobile app.

What We Collect

Account data such as email address, display name, username, profile image, and authentication identifiers.

Profile and settings data such as timezone, theme preferences, accent color, privacy choices, analytics preferences, and optional birthdate.

Social and content activity such as follows, comments, report submissions, search history, listening history, and content preferences.

Technical data needed to operate the service, including device details, session metadata, network information, and push notification tokens.

How We Use Data

To authenticate accounts, sync settings, and deliver core podcast and live-stream features.

To personalize recommendations and remember user preferences when you have not opted out of that use.

To operate moderation, abuse-prevention, notifications, and account support workflows.

To measure product usage through PostHog on web and Vexo on mobile when analytics tracking is enabled for the relevant platform.

Analytics and Privacy Controls

Bouncepad keeps analytics controls separate by platform. Web and desktop analytics use PostHog. Mobile analytics use Vexo. Mobile Vexo identification is limited to signed-in users who have not opted out of mobile analytics. Birthdate is stored privately and is not shown on public profiles.

Service Providers

Clerk helps manage authentication and account identity.

PostHog processes web analytics when enabled.

Vexo processes mobile analytics when enabled.

Expo Application Services supports build, update, and mobile delivery infrastructure.

Resend is used for transactional email workflows.

Bouncepad application data is hosted in Germany on infrastructure operated through netcup-backed servers.

Retention, Deletion, and Minors

We keep personal data for as long as it is needed to operate Bouncepad, meet legal obligations, enforce terms, and resolve disputes. Some records may persist for security, moderation, fraud prevention, or compliance reasons even after account deletion requests. You must be at least 16 years old to register a Bouncepad account. If an identity provider does not supply the information needed to assess that requirement, Bouncepad may ask for birthdate and timezone during onboarding.
